Last year, Alexander Kl\u00f6ber, an employee in the operating technology team at sanotact GmbH, not only inspired his colleagues with his campaign for a good cause. He covered 2,508 kilometers by bike. The amount donated was rounded up to 3,000 \u20ac by the management and went to the outpatient hospice service for children and young people, K\u00f6nigskinder in M\u00fcnster. This year, the campaign was extended by calling on colleagues to join in! With an impressive result – in the end, we were able to hand over the maximum agreed donation amount of 6,800 \u20ac to the K\u00f6nigskinder!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

But how did it start this year? Alexander Kl\u00f6ber was planning a trip to Croatia and Italy for about 5 weeks. He also wanted to do something for a good cause during this vacation and asked the management to support his campaign.\u00a0 A short time later he received the promise – as last year – 1 euro per kilometer driven. Then came the idea of involving the whole sanotact team and also \u201crewarding\u201d the kilometers on the route with 1 euro per kilometer.<\/p>\n

Alexander used the route planner for hiking and cycling – komoot. The route planner calculated 3,400 kilometers for the route and he set off with this goal in mind. At the end of the journey, Alexander slowly added up the kilometers and didn’t quite reach the 3,400, because the route planner had included the ferry route from Split in Croatia to Ancona in Italy – namely the 400 km.\u00a0 Once the 3,400 kilometer distance had been reached thanks to the journeys made by colleagues in M\u00fcnster, which was already the case a week before the official end of the campaign, further entries were made in the canteen lists. And so the management decided to hand over the maximum agreed amount as a donation to the K\u00f6nigskinder. After returning from the trip, Alexander Kl\u00f6ber summed up: \u201cAs always on my long cycle tours, I had a few weather-related challenges this time too – as well as the sun, there was also rain and on the Alpine pass in Austria it was suddenly only 2\u00b0 and snowing. The motivation to reach my goal and to see that I was so supported at home in M\u00fcnster gave me the drive to keep going in every difficult situation along the way. I was so impressed that the team in M\u00fcnster had already reached the 3,400 km mark a week before the official finish.
